this first compilation from copenhagen label pattern abuse is an eclectic collection of some of denmark’s finest artists from all around the musical spectrum. quirky electronica, retro techno, future garage, post punk and more: at first glance the nine tracks on this relase seem an odd blend. but played together, a common thread of dark and dusty sound appears, showcasing pattern abuse as a label that is sure to deliver unexpected and high quality sounds.

grain remixes !! ashworth s grain lp captured the imagination of many in the music world on its release last year. after releasing two original ep s from the album we get an excellent remix package from three leading lights in electronic music. what better way to wrap up his debut with needwant. the ep serves up three very different remixes all for a different occasion and mood. the ever reliable dorisbourg, who remains one half of the lauded genius of time, takes a laidback electronica approach but with techno at it s heart. newcomer kris davis and yost keep the original feel of cork but provide a sensual but progressive vibe. while simon haydo drives all the way to the end with his remix of fireworks. great production on show across the ep for the emerging producer ashworth.

miss sunshine is back on random island! she s definitely not brought the sun with her, rather opting to throw you straight into a black hole with nothing but earth-shattering bass, spaced-out bleeps and sweeps to keep you company. on the flip, souls reemerge is another assault on the senses, massive distorted arpeggios towering over a relentless beat. finally, the closing anti hero will shake the life back into you with its highly efficient, jacking groove.

jumpmono records is the brand new label from uk techno brothers, anti-slam & w.e.a.p.o.n. after the growing success of their digital only label, jumpstereo records, it was only a matter of time before the brothers went back to their roots and created a label not only for the digital world but also heavily focused on vinyl.
for the first release we happily welcome one of the finest producers of the past few years, raul mezcolanza, with his incredible track called diagram.
on remix duties we have super duo, spektre, who bring a superb, harder techno edge to the release. etai tarazi takes care of the second remix with a more stripped back and melodic approach that works perfectly across dance floors and label bosses, anti-slam & w.e.a.p.o.n. finish off the release with their usual energetic, groove driven style.

nyc loft trax unreleased vol. 2 give me shelter. not much known about this release but made by seminal production outfit in the mid 90 s nyc. never before released in any format! all killer no filler! the first volume sold out in days... dont hand around.

while being a rare patrick adams and billy nichols production, mary clark’s “take me i’m yours” has in recent years become one of the most celebrated disco tracks by contemporary deejays. this borderline gospel-disco gem has all the elements of a timeless disco cut, a driving bass line, powefully arranged strings and horns, but most importantly, a very soulful performance by mary clark. like many of peter brown’s “affliate” labels, little is known about them or the artists recorded. originaly released in 1980 on ‘la shawn’, it is rumored to have been no more than 200 records originally pressed, making this one of the most sought 12 inches among collectors.

some more homegrown beats from elvis cassetta on morris audio! after his huge tune humney (morris audio 94), mr. cassetta is ready with another fine ep called longstreet claps. the title track is a deep and upbuilding house tune with cool vocals and a sexy bassline and shows elvis more subtle side of house. more of that please! the remix courtesy of up and coming london/leeds duo jammhot (madtech, roots of bloom, morris audio) taking a more stripped down approach, but as sexy as the original version. the b-side offers two straight club cuts, elvis cassetta style! and yes, elvis is his real name! enjoy!

on the newest star time release, kon reworks “the bottle”. most should be familiar with this song but this gets the standard kon treatment, an intro that builds dropping into the bottle’s infamous chords bass line breakdowns and more. for the flipside kon remixes the rework for more of a housier vibe, chopping some vocal sections and some guitar ala george benson style.

technosoul .03 comes from blazej malinowski, who has previously released on swedish phorma and canadian silent season amongst others. “mika” and “open closed open” might serve as blazej s sound signature – deeply rooted, hypnotic techno with a trance edge, which works both on the dancefloor and in comfort of one s home. remix number one comes from the legendary british dj and producer steve bicknell, whose take on “mika” is raw and very dense at once – it serves as the most brutal piece of music on the release. remix number two comes from “the mad ukrainian” stanislav tolkachev, whose vision strikes as a real surprise. instead of his usual beats stampede, he has provided the record with a beautiful, ethereal offbeat techno: this won t probably work as a peak time monster, but with a proper audience, it will have a mesmerizing effect!

padez is a producer from a town near mannheim which meant growing up fully submersed into the vibrant electronic music movement of mannheim and frankfurt area, but his influences grow roots deeper into the golden age of hip-hop, as well as jazz, soul, funk etc… he started producing in 2009, sharing music just in between a circle of friends, and it was not until 2013 that he had his first digital release out on basti grub’s hoehenregler records. in the meantime he took the chance to dive deeper into the sound with his friends sedee. releases on valioso recordings and medeia records among others can be expected as a result of this collaboration. the love reloaded ep on kanzyanis jesus loved you label is his first vinyl release and a homage to the music he is essentially influenced by. the ep features 3 intrinsically groovy tracks, permeated with heavy baselines and driven by upbeat, slightly broken rhythm patterns, oozing a sublime soulful vibe at the same time. truly a dance-floor delight!

kicking cheerfully against the compression and conformity of the modern digital age, antique futurist analogue wizards metamono return with their finest, fittest album to date. comprising jono podmore, aka kumo and sometime collaborator with can members irmin schmidt and jaki liebezeit, paul conboy and fine artist mark hill, the crystal palace based trio enchanted audiences during 2014 with their live soundtracks to secrets of nature, early 20th century short films using new photography techniques to reveal the processes of the natural world including the lives of cuckoos and barn owls. many of the pieces they wrote feature on the new album. it was an ideal fit for the metamono sound - organic, playful, basking in the joys of new mechanical possibilities. recalling the early electronic adventures of raymond scott, brian eno, cabaret voltaire, cluster and acid house but always bearing their unmistakable bespoke signature, metamono are as unmissable live as they are on vinyl. do not miss this!

its one year since we started this adventure and we want to celebrate pressing our first vinyl. for this special event we have onboard one of our best friends and someone we respect massively, no other than oscar mulero. he his providing two futuristic reworks of uncuts track beneath, floor orientated but mental at the same time, with flanged synth sequences and scientific drum programming making two techno tools that will crush sound systems worldwide. aside from the remixes, an own rework of beneath is made by the hd substance & leandro gamez duo as well as a brand new original track called f9, arpegio madness, concrete beats and solid structures as we should expect from this two veterans. four solid cuts of no joke modern techno made by those who know for those who know.

taking a brief detour from his normal abrasive distorted sound, pinion showcases his broad spectrum as an artist with the desire ep. the title track, desire (half measure),starts out of the gate with a thunderous half beat 808 coupled with a swinging hihat pattern that slowly works ethereal vocal slices into the forefront, accompanied with a modulating synth pad that evolves into a defining melody. the sister track, desire (full measure), has very similar characteristics as the original, but allowing a little more edge for the dancefloor to build on. the third original track, recollection shifts gears quite drastically with a 135 bpm stormer with enough soul and melody to make the uncharacteristically fast tempo seem inconsequential. last, comes kyle geiger on remix duties to round out the ep with a housier take on desire, but still enough bite to fit nicely into any techno set.

needing very little introduction here is soulful scotsman al kent, who delivers the dirty goods for his first outing on rnt. good inside and 4006 are a pair of dusty reworks, as gritty and groovy as you like. but the prize of this ep might just be come back home, the crown jewel of his decade-earlier secret sounds collection, finally getting a proper vinyl for the first time ever!

embracing disco, techno and house music in all its declinations, what ever not introduces now british artist reformed society, project started by house producer harsh puri as a consequence of djing and collecting records since 1998, debuting with a four track old school house ep, optimistic chaos coherently fitting with the italian imprint philosophy. ‘hope’ has that solar, yet dusty groove folding distorted rhythmics and joyful pads around an insistent lead dubby pattern and shimmering synths. ‘optimistic chaos’ is again smooth but lightly gloomy, until a pause intoxicates one’s body and mind filling them with inebriating ambients. ‘incognito’ delivers a deep driving atmosphere here, featuring dogged, crisp drums together with minimalist, yet momentary cosmic motives. for the closing cut ‘detracid’, the artist cooks up a brew of acid lines with the usual charming synths and vivid hats, building a light sense of tension fired up by the warm, heady sound scapes. each track is similar to the last, stiffening the musical timbre of the label, confirming the producer’s strong artistic identity as a consequence.

curitiba-based aia records returns with it s second release. lucas and marcelo also known as doneck, started to join forces back in early-2013. musically influenced by international recognised artists such as san soda, andre&#769,,s and move d, the duo also found significance in the sounds of aia s own label heads aninha & antonela antonela giampietro. therefore, creating a mixture of three soulful, deep but endlessly sounding tracks seems very convincing and credible to the overall ethos of the imprint. with assaz the duo delivers a deep but soulful house number, whereas ocluso is deep house at it s best, with a light atmospheric vibe and the echoing vocal. last but not least, te&#770,,nue creates this feeling of weightlessness and ease with warm natural added sounds and it s groovy bassline.

evod music returns with his 2nd vinyl release, with an innovative collaboration between evod and oisel, that generated an unique sound, based on hard grooves, and accurate consideration of sounds details. the fusion of artists ideas turns out to be a rare combination of sonorities, that express themselves in different forms in each track, but always render the sensations of artists and their personal vision. long reverbs, amped grooves, sharp sounds and ambient noises are the bases on which evod and oisel realized this ep.

way back in 1996, at the height of the widely acknowledged golden period for electronic music, d-saw a.k.a andré winter released a true classic on hamburgs highly influential superstition label. track 10:30 stood the test of time, becoming widely regarded as a key moment in european techno music history, despite its modest impact at the time. now, 20 years later, andré revisits the source material courtesy of some killer remixes on oliver huntemanns senso imprint. hamburg’s own h.o.s.h. (holger behn) delivers an epic twist to the cut, widening out the spaces and adding his own techy signature to the original. re.you offer up another flavour altogether, maintaining the iconic synth pulse of the source but introducing an infectious, driving groove. dubspeeka throw a bit more grit in into proceedings with a tough, machine funk mix, while andre winter himself reworks his classic into a slow burning groover that effortlessly showcases the elements that make this track so timeless.

smeur continues it’s journey into melodic trippy house. the third release features two artists take on a track from the same starting point. both sides are based on the same set of samples. but while side a reminisces early orbital in its theme side b is a somber excursion into another subterranean world. both tracks will keep the floor interested with it’s different approach to house music.

were not only kicking off the new year 2016 in some bootylicious fashion, but with a special release by the axis tokyo-chicago-berlin. both the japanese techno legend dj shufflemaster as well as his compatriot and partner-in-crime chester beatty will debut on bpitch. since their first joint ep from 1997 on robert armanis label cloned vinyl, the duo held a special connection to chicago, the origins of house music.

limited collectors edition of 300 copies only of this rare italian disco funk studio project from 1977 run by pino presti. today is very rare but the value of this reissue is that contains for the first time ever all the original versions plus the long version that never saw the light, because for some reason both 12 and the 7 inch original vinyl contains only the short cuts (called part 1 / part 2).

side b is quite a different beast, and one that is quite dear to our heart, as it is the debut of local producing duo dos attack. not ones to release much info about themselves we only know that their debut track was so good it was decided to be put on the other side of a legowelt track.

amin peck is an electronic studio project, contaminated by the new wave from u.k. like most ’80s electronic bands. amin-peck walked a fine line between disco and minimal wave throughout the course of the early 1980s, oftentimes incorporating shameless pop melodies and avant-garde leanings. amin peck were an italian band leaded by giorgio fioroni (aka george fyron, arrangements, production, vocals) with leonard parker (arrangments, keyboards) and max marne (production). incredible but true, amin peck started as hard rock guitar band in the 70s... and becoming one of the best examples of italo disco. this limited edition it contains full-length versions plus uncut audio material (a2) tracked down during tape restoration. (the first pressing coming from 1982 was pressed only on 7inch in u.k.)

following two ep releases on delusions of grandeur the time felt right for thatmanmonkz to get working on his debut lp. the sheffield b-boy is no newcomer to production having been releasing music since the mid-noughties but has seen a definite rise in interest the last few years following essential releases on his own shadeleaf label as well as remixes and productions for the likes of classic, kolour ltd and kon’s startime.

matt edwards pyramids of mars label is ready to unleash a fifth release, this time featuring three subtle but high impact slo-disco tracks from the boss himself under his rekid moniker. by now edwards is rightly acclaimed for many different things: the stewardship of his tastemaking labels, his own elongated club cuts for the likes classic & rekids and his more experimental collaborations, not to mention his critically acclaimed lp on the legendary soul jazz label. here he showcases his fun and functional side with a trio of tantalising tracks aimed squarely at the rump.

legowelt returns to unknown to the unknown for another bunch of wonderful excursions through obsolete musical technology under the banner sampling winter. leading with the title track, this finds danny wolfers on a soulful and deep house vibe with a wandering and mesmerising melody, warm pads and super shuffling garage style rhythm. on the flip is “beach oceano” which is equally rich in soulfulness but more on the deeper techno vibe, with its sharp and hypnotising arpeggio backed by galactic melodies and glistening pads. all accentuated by analogue tape hiss in the background. this is raw!

pocket money returns for their third release and they are back with what could easily be their strongest output yet. just hitting the ripe old age of one, and a couple of releases in, this label has found its stride nicely and starting to turn heads in the scene. taking the spotlight for the deep basics ep is the producer keepin soul, who may only have a handful of releases to his name but puts himself in the spotlight with this deep and meaningful pocket money release. this is a beautifully dusty sounding record, it opens up doing exactly what it says on the tin deep basics and doing them well. this a1 is all about hypnotic grooves undulating against the drive of crisp, warm and exciting percussive grooves.
